Included in the above picture is my first Mugwort harvest, grown from seed. The leaves are processed like wool and pressed into tubes. Then fire is applied: smoking tubes hover over the skin to offer a nourishing, stimulating and calming warmth. This is one modality I often recommend, especially in the wintertime.
I am committed to all layers of consciousness, allied with a reverence for the cycles of nature and deep compassion. I believe in the importance of patient autonomy and that my job is to walk beside you as a ‘midwife of transformation.’
I have maintained since time before mind a nature connection, which has carried me though the twists of life.
My interest in facilitating healing started with experiances during Outward Bound trips. I craved to be in nature, yet I found a deep disconnect upon returning to the city and wondered how to heal without having to leave one’s locale. Along the way I completed a BA in Clinical Psychology and Fine Arts, however the more I learned the more I believed in ancient healing methods. The edge of the forest called me back, where I dove into re-wilding. I craved to connect with time-tested and true human healing. This brought me back to myself, I discovered breath work and dove into Traditional Chinese Medicine. I bcame involved in nature-based educations for adults and children, and still practice the activities like ‘sit-spots’. I was a tree-planter for seven years in the far north and western Canada, I am personally versed in methods to keep bodies running optimally. I am a Qi Gong and Hatha Yoga teacher (250hr) and often make tailored recommendations depending on circumstance and complaints. I believe in heart-centered listening and the trance-state healing of Acupuncture, especially in these unprecedented and fast-paced times.
I am greatful to perserverance and completion of my Acupuncture degree, I strive to remain impecable in my daily work so I may be able to offer solace in whatever state you arrive in.
